For the 2013 production of Hamlet by William Shakespeare, Belvoir St Theatre, Sydney, Luke played piano and was on stage the whole time, sitting like a statue even when characters were lying face-down in a pool of their own blood.
Most of the music played was hypnotic and ritualistic, attenuating Purcell grounds and improvisations to a cinematic scope, especially the epic “Dido’s Lament” for the bloodshed of the final act.
